Demanding, innovative and useful.
With a group of talented students from four high schools, we created a solution for "Petka za nasmeh" as part of the RaST project.
Why?
Talented students have exceptional potential, which they develop best when faced with real-life challenges. At Kainoto, we believe that experiences like these will shape them into even better change-makers in their careers, helping organizations find optimal solutions.
What did we create?
"Petka za nasmeh" had been using its first website and a donation tracking system that required extensive manual work.
During the first weekend, students tackled two key challenges:
- proposing improvements for the organization's online communication
- designing a better information system to track donations and financial flows
A team of five students worked over two weekends to develop a refreshed version of the website and an automated Google Spreadsheet, which now handles most functionalities automatically.
What did the students learn?
The workshop aimed to teach students how to use practical digital tools while also introducing them to key principles and methods essential for modern organizations:
- managing changes in organizations
- collaboration and teamwork
- developing and refining communication tools
What did we learn at Kainoto?
The potential of talented students is remarkable—they can quickly transfer knowledge into practice. Hands-on project experience is crucial, as it helps them develop skills in planning, adaptability, and perseverance, all of which are vital for their future success.
